Day in and day out, our team of project managers and coordinators are working hard to fulfill the needs of our clients. Still, it’s hard to get some perspective on how much work we are really churning out as a team. While 2016 is a recent memory, here’s a quick look back at some of the amazing successes we have had last year and provided to the Limited English Proficiency (LEP) community. As a company, we grew 8%, but here is what that growth translated to by the numbers:
68,000+ face-to-face assignments nationwide.
1500+ linguists providing interpreting services.
5+ million words translated in 100 different languages.
Over 200 languages serviced this year among all services (Translation, Transcription, and Interpreting).
450,000 pages transcribed.
500,000+ minutes of over the phone interpretation (OPI).
Also, a brief comparison of the top spoken languages according to the US Census of 2011 versus the work we are providing nationwide:
US Top spoken languages (after English)
French (French Creole)
Geneva Top 10 language requests:
American Sign Language (ASL)
Now that’s a LOT of language services! Of course, none of this happens without our dedicated team of linguists, so a big THANK YOU to all those that helped us reach these milestones of service. You truly help all of our clients and their LEP customers communicate 24/7/365.
Here’s a partial list of some of the languages of limited diffusion that our clients requested and facilitated this year. I am amazed at the constant perseverance of our recruitment team and their ability to find top talent where many other LSP’s have difficulty.
A comprehensive language list of many of the languages we provide can be found on our website, but if you happen to need language service in any language, please reach out! We make it our business to find linguists that others are unable to fill and we can provide technological solutions when local resources are not available.
We are excited to take on 2017 with our clients, linguists, and staff and wish you all a safe, happy and healthy New Year! Thanks again for helping make Geneva Worldwide one of the top language companies worldwide!
