Geneva Worldwide Announces Approved Vendor Status for Language Services In the State of Connecticut

Geneva Worldwide is now part of the State of Connecticut-approved vendors list for language interpreters and translation services.

May 16, 2022 – New York, NY – Geneva Worldwide, an innovative language service company specializing in interpretation and translation services, announced today its recent approved vendor status and the re-awarding of its contract in partnership with the Department of Administrative Services for the state of Connecticut. Effective May 1st, 2022 for a three-year period, Geneva is now contracted to provide in-person interpretation and translation services, including document translation for all state agencies and political subdivisions.

In-person interpreting services include two types: (1) Consecutive Interpreting, during which one person speaks and then pauses while an interpreter conveys what’s been said, and (2) Simultaneous Interpretation, during which an interpreter interprets in real-time while the speaker talks, so there are no pauses. Simultaneous interpretation is more complex and requires trained interpreters, specialized equipment, and language interpreters. American Sign Language (ASL) interpreters for the deaf and hard-of-hearing are also available.

Translation services may include medical records, human services records, websites, voting materials, education content, and more. Geneva follows a 3-step document translation process, including a quality assurance step, to ensure the highest quality.

The top language requests for the State of Connecticut are French, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish and Vietnamese. In addition, the State may receive requests for other languages. Geneva will offer 180 languages for any other needs that agencies have.

“We’re looking forward to supplying the State of Connecticut with our professional interpreting and translation services,” said Craig Buckstein, CEO of Geneva Worldwide. “Being a neighboring state of Connecticut, we understand the types of services that agencies require and the needs of populations that request language assistance. So whether it’s an interpreter for a medical appointment or conference, or translating a vital record, we can provide the expertise.”
